What is the Our Dreams Matter Program?

The Our Dreams Matter Program aims to bridge the gap between turning the dream of business ownership into a reality. We have assembled a team of professionals ready to assist and guide you in developing a winning business plan.

 

How can I participate in the program?

You must complete an application, pay a non-refundable application fee, and become accepted into the program.

 

What do I need to participate in the program?

This program is fast-paced. You will need a focused mindset to finish this program well. Since the classes are virtual, you will also need access to a device to connect with the virtual classroom.

 

Do I have to have any experience to participate in this program?

No experience is needed, but we do require you to have the desire to learn the skills that will help you develop an excellent business knowledge foundation and a thorough business plan.

 

I already have a business. Can I still take the classes?

Yes. During our first session, several students already had businesses and enrolled in the Our Dreams Matter Program to further grow their businesses.

 

Is the Orientation mandatory?

Yes. During the Orientation, you will receive valuable and pertinent information regarding the program to ensure your success.

 

Is there training for the Google Classroom?

Yes. During Orientation, we will give instructions concerning the Google classrooms. It is also kept in the Google Classrooms to view when needed.

 

Is there a classroom protocol/ behavior requirement?

Yes. We ask that cameras be up during class and that students find quiet locations to learn without distraction.

 

What are the teachers' qualifications?

All instructors are successful business owners who are teaching from a place of experience and knowledge.  All instructors are degreed in their fields.

 

Do I have to take all the classes, or can I select the most useful ones?

All classes must be well-attended. The lessons give the students the most incredible opportunity for success.  Each course works in conjunction with the next, building on each other.

 

Are there any in-person classes?

No. All classes are virtual.

What happens if I miss more than one class?  Are makeup classes offered?

After speaking with the instructors, the Board of Directors will determine the next step if you miss a class.

 

What will happen to my business plan at the end of the program?

At the end of the program, the business plan remains with the student, hoping it will provide opportunities to get funding for your dream by reaching out to investors for further business loans if needed.

 

How will I know my idea will be confidential?

Just as the students must sign a confidentiality agreement, the Board of Directors members sign the same agreement.

 

Are there additional support options after I complete the program?

Absolutely.  The Dream Team remains available for any guidance needed upon completing the program.

 

What will cause me to get removed from the program?

Missing more than two classes will result in removal from the program. The team will have a conference with you to discuss attendance challenges in hopes of preparing you for participation in future semester sessions.

Can I participate in the program more than once?

Yes. Re-enrollment is allowed once the program is over and a grant is received. However, eligibility for a second grant is not an option.

How much is the grant?

The grant amount will vary.

 

If awarded, are there restrictions on how I can spend the grant?

Although there are no restrictions on the usage of the grant, we hope you will use it for business development. We will follow up with you about the uses of the grant.

 

Do you offer any additional financing for a business?

ODM does not, but we will refer you to other business financial sources.

 

How can I support the Our Dreams Matter Program?

You can support ODM financially with donations and by volunteering to work with the program.

 

Do you accept volunteers?

Yes. We need volunteers in various capacities.
